NAMED FIRST SPEEDHORSE PAINT & APPALOOSA TRIPLE CROWN WINNER
Painted Turnpike (PYC Paint Your Wagon QH-High Class Turnpike, Royal Quick Flash) was named the first ever Speedhorse Paint
& Appaloosa Triple Crown winner on Oct.
30 after winning the final leg. The two-year-
old Paint colt, who is bred/owned by Nolan Pevehouse, trained by Matt Whitekiller, and was ridden by Cody Smith in each race, was also named the Speedhorse High-Point Champion.
The program, which began in 2012, awards points according to how each horse finishes in the 350-yard Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at Remington Park, the 350-yard Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at Tulsa
Fair Meadows and the 400-yard Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at Lone Star Park.
Painted Turnpike began his feat by winning the $213,500 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, the richest Paint & Appaloosa Futurity in the world, at Remington Park on May 30. Next, he scored a 1 1/4-length victory in the $86,890 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Tulsa Fair Meadows on July 25. He wrapped up the Triple Crown after going wire-to-wire over a sloppy track winning the $89,780 Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 by 1 1/2-lengths at Lone Star Park on Oct. 30.
As the winner of the Speedhorse Paint
& Appaloosa Triple Crown, Pevehouse was awarded the title to a 3-horse Gooseneck
4-Star Trailer, a $35,000 discount toward the purchase of a SportChassis, LLC heavy-duty truck, a trophy and a buckle. As the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown High Point Champion, Pevehouse was also awarded a $5,000 cash bonus.
With an additional win in the Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, Painted Turnpike has now earned a total $216,436 and is the #1 leading money earner of 2015 and the #6 all-time leading Paint money earner.
