The Roundup Shindig
Oklahoma Horsemen Support Children’s Hospital
The third annual Roundup Shindig was held at the Riverwind Casino Showplace Theatre in Norman, Oklahoma on Feb. 9 to benefit the Children’s Hospital Foundation at the O.U. Medical Center. The event, which was founded by Oklahoma’s horse industry, raised much-needed money to support pediatric research, education, and clinical care.
Led by event chair Vicki Tebow, the Roundup Shindig included a live and silent auction, live music from the Jason Savory Band, dancing, and a dinner with western flair.
The bidding in the auction resulted in a $6,000 gift for an embryo transfer donated by Royal Vista Southwest. The high bidder was Doug Hughes. Royal Vista Southwest received the top bid for the second consecutive year. All of the money raised from the Shindig benefits Oklahoma children.
“We are extremely grateful to the Oklahoma equine industry for supporting the health needs of Oklahoma’s children,” said Executive Director of Children’s Hospital Foundation Kathy McCracken.
The Children’s Hospital sees over 162,000 patients each year and ensures Oklahoma children have access to exceptional pediatric specialists without having to leave the state. Contact Kati at (405) 271-2550 for more infor- mation, or visit www.okchf.org to support the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
