Conrado’s Tibbie Named 2016 AQHA/WPRA Barrel Horse of the Year
Kelly Conrado and daughter Ivy Conrado’s 7-year-old sorrel mare Cfour Tibbie Stinson, aka Tibbie, has been voted the 2016 AQHA/ WPRA Barrel Horse of the Year. Tibbie carried Ivy to her first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo after winning the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo. Ivy and Cfour Tibbie Stinson (Eddie Stinson-Little Fancy Granny, Del Puerto Bill) also set a New Arena Record at the Wrangler Champions Challenge in Spanish Fork, Utah. Conrado will be recognized during the PRCA Awards presentation prior to the start of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
CBHI Yearling Sale Results
The Canadian Barrel Horse Incentive (CBHI) Breeders Yearling Sale was held Oct. 8
in Ponoka, Alberta, Canada. The top 3 sellers were: SR Guysleadingasset (A Classic Guy- Leading Asset) consigned by D&C Schaffer and purchased by Joe Loomis for $16,000; Cowboys Famous Fame (Guys Casanova Cowboy-Tryin To Be Famous) consigned by Wildwood Ranches and purchased by Shelly Shields for $12,750; and SR Plainlyimspecial (Plain Special-Eyema Special Gal) consigned by D&C Schaffer and purchased by Shelly Shields for $10,500.
Willys Rockin Laid to Rest
Great barrel producer Willys Rockin (Jet N Rocket-Willys Lass, Laughing Boy) was laid to rest at the Jud Little Ranch in Springer, Oklahoma,
on Sept. 12 at the age of 30. The mare, who was bred by William G. Walker, won twice on the track, set a 250-yard New Track Record, and was a barrel futurity money earner with Lori Shearer. As a broodmare, she produced barrel earners of over $220,000, including SX Frenchmans Vanila (an all-time leading futurity horse, Speedhorse Triple Crown Champion, and NFR qualifier with Amanda Blackwell) who later became the corner- stone of the Blackwell family breeding program.

Miss Fancy Bugs Laid to Rest
Miss Fancy Bugs (Go For Bugs-Jet Pacs Fancy, Pacific Baily) was laid to rest on July
27. Owned by Katie Dickens, the mare was a multiple barrel futurity winner of over $30,000, and was also a successful broodmare.
