Johnny and Jana Trotter
Joiner’s son Cody sent the gelding out in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity-G1. The gelding in 2015 scored in the Texas Classic Derby-G1 and Dash For Cash Derby-G3; lit the board in three graded stakes in 2016; and took the Leo Stakes-G1, Eastex Stakes-G2, and Higheasterjet Handicap-G3 in 2017.
Bred by Javier Rodriguez’s La Feliz Montana Ranch LLC of North Las Vegas, Nevada, Bodacious Eagle is the second World Champion by Champion One Famous Eagle ($1,387,453), who also sired 2012 World Champion One Dashing Eagle. One Famous Eagle was bred
by Trotter, who raced the son of Mr Jess Perry in partnership with Burnett Ranches. Owned by a syndicate, One Famous Eagle stands at Burnett’s Four Sixes Ranch in Guthrie, Texas.
Bodacious Eagle is one of 19 winners and the earners of more than $1.66 million from 26 starters out of Bodacious Dream, a winning daughter of leading living sire Corona Cartel and Dash For Cash’s American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame daughter Dashing Phoebe.
“We raised Bodacious Eagle,” says Trotter, who acquired him as an embryo for $8,000. “We hooked him to a burro when we halter-broke him and had him running on wheat pasture with the other colts when he was a yearling, and he’d always come over to say hi. I’ve loved that horse from the git-go. I’d
go in the barn at Ruidoso early in the morning
and he’d nicker at me, and he nickered at me
the morning after he won the Champion Of Champions, like he was saying, ‘Hey, how
about last night?!!!’ He’s quite a horse.”
He’s not done yet. Bodacious Eagle is retired from the track, but he’s already prep- ping for new careers.
“I plan on roping on him one of these days,” Trotter says. “He’s got that kind of disposition, he’s that kind of horse.”

by Johnny Trotter, is the sire of 2018 World Champion Bodacious Eagle. One Famous Eagle is also the sire of 2012 World Champion One Dashing Eagle, 2013 Champion One Famous Episode, 2014 Champion Hes Relentless, 2-time 2016 Champion Imperial Eagle, 2016 Champion Moonin The Eagle, 2018 Champion One Famous Secret, and 2-time 2018 Champion Hotstepper.
