NINTH ANNUAL
MEXICAN QUARTER HORSE BREEDERS’ CUP

Under the organization of the Mexican Association of Breeders and Horsemen of Quarter Mile Horses, A.C. (AMCCCCM), the Ninth Annual Breeders’ Cup was held in honor of the national breeders of horses of “The fastest breed in the world.”
There were 12 competitions under different conditions and prizes, where 104 Mexican breds participated, of which 66 (63%) were two years old who starred in the finals, particularly the final and consolation of the Subasta Selecta Futurity. The awards paid in purses for these races was $8,421,825 pesos ($419,378 US approximately).
Quantitatively, Maximiliano Pérez Correa reported the greatest achievements. As a breeder, he won these classics: Jacinto Garduño, with BR Diamante; Carlos Antonio Sosa Valencia, with BR Sueno; and Salomé Gallegos, with BR Tres Win which ran on behalf of the Cuadras Bronco Rider and Chilano, which are his property. These winners are all sons of their stallion Southern Corona (by Corona Cartel).
In the rider division, Paul Osvaldo Rodriguez had a successful afternoon winning four of his seven rides, including the final and consolation of the Subasta Selecta Futurity, cementing himself as the season’s leading rider.
The trainer with the most visits to the winner’s circle was René Liderme Gómez Díaz with the triumphs of BR Sueno (Carlos Antonio Sosa Valencia Clásico, Division), AS Macho (Salvador Oñate Clásico) and BR Tres Win (Salomé Gallegos Clásico), victories that occurred consecutively.

El Suspiro, to be crowned champion of the
Subasta Selecta Futurity, which this year was
in honor of the aforementioned Dr. Anselmo Aguilar, breeder of the gelding Juanito Y Danny, champion of this futurity in 2020.
At the end of this section, the pictures of each race and the winner’s award is presented, as well as a summary with the most relevant data of the Ninth Annual Mexican Quarter Horse Breeders’ Cup.
Because of their importance, level of the participants, and the prizes paid, presented below is a report of the following races:
The Anselmo Aguilar Payán Classic, which corresponds to the final of the Subasta Selecta Futurity; the Alberto Bailleres Classic, which is the consolation of the aforementioned futurity; the Salvador Oñate Classic; and thePremio Alberto Gómez Gutiérrez.

Bajo la organización de la Asociación Mexicana de Criadores y Caballistas de Caballos Cuarto de Milla, A. C. (AMCCCCM), se realizó la Novena Copa Criadores en honor a productores nacionales de caballos de “La raza más veloz del mundo”.
Fueron 12 competencias bajo distintas condiciones y premios, donde participaron 104 ejemplares mexicanos, de los cuales 66 (63%) son dos añeros que estelarizaron la función, particularmente la final y consolación del Futurity Subasta Selecta. La bolsa pagada en premios en dichas carreras fue de $8’421,825 pesos ($419,378 US aproximadamente).
Cuantitativamente, Maximiliano Pérez Correa reportó los mayores logros. Como criador ganó los clásicos Jacinto Garduño, con BR Diamante, Carlos Antonio Sosa Valencia, con BR Sueno y Salomé Gallegos
con BR Tres Win, mismos que corrieron
a nombre de las Cuadras Bronco Rider y Chilano, que son de su propiedad. Tales ganadores son hijos de su semental Southern Corona (por Corona Cartel).
En la división de jinetes, Paul Osvaldo Rodríguez tuvo una tarde exitosa al ganar en cuatro de sus siete montas, incluyendo la final
y consolación del Futurity Subasta Selecta, afianzándose como jinete líder de la temporada.
El entrenador con más visitas al círculo de ganadores fue René Liderme Gómez Díaz al
ser parte de los triunfos de BR Sueno (Clásico Carlos Antonio Sosa Valencia, División), AS Macho (Clásico Salvador Oñate) y BR Tres Win (Clásico Salomé Gallegos), victorias que se dieron de manera consecutiva.
La crianza de Cuadra La Presita del Dr. Anselmo Aguilar Payán, se llevó los honores con la potranca Texana Cartel, propiedad del Rancho El Suspiro, al coronarse campeona del Futurity Subasta Selecta, mismo que este año fue en honor del mencionado Dr. Anselmo Aguilar, criador del castrado Juanito y Danny, campeón de este futurity en 2020.
Al final de esta sección se presenta la foto de cada carrera y de la premiación del ganador, así como un resumen con los datos más relevantes de la Novena Copa Criadores Cuarto de Milla.
Por su importancia, nivel de los participantes y los premios pagados, a continuación, les presento la crónica de las siguientes carreras: El Clásico Anselmo Aguilar Payán, que corresponde a la final del Futurity Subasta Selecta; el Clásico Alberto Bailleres, que es la consolación del citado futurity; el Clásico Salvador Oñate y el Premio Alberto Gómez Gutiérrez.
