The Oklahoma Futurity is Julio’s biggest victory so far in his career. He also trained Im Beau Brown, winner of the 2016 Remington Championship Challenge-G2 and Dauns First Desirio, winner of the 2017 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship Stakes-G3.
The Oklahoma Futurity is the longest- running futurity in Quarter Horse racing, with the first running in 1947.
Bret Pevehouse’s homebred Reggies Bailbond (High Rate Of Return-Landaluce) finished second under jockey Omar Reyes for trainer Clint Crawford.
Reliance Ranches LLC’s homebred SC Money Maker (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Spit Curl Diva) ran third a neck behind the winner. Stormy Smith rode the gelding for trainer Mike Robbins in both SC Money Maker’s winning trial and the final.
Pops Tempting Wagon (Tempting Dash- Pops Zooming Wagon), Shez A Cartel Chick (Coronado Cartel-Chase This Chick), First Prize Shawn (Tempting Dash-First Prize Shaunda), Igotta Go Gotta Go (Separatist- Igottagoodee) and CR Smoke (PYC First Fancy Lee-Fly On Candy Tree) completed the order of finish. Demi More and Tempting Illusion were scratched.
