The 40th annual Heritage Place Yearling
Sale was held Sept. 20-22 in Oklahoma City. Preliminary sale results showed that 642 yearlings sold for $11,730,900, up 13% from last year’s $10,391,400 where 649 yearlings were sold. The median increased 11% from $11,000 to $12,250 and the average was up 14% from $16,001 to $18,727. The sales RNA rate was 11%. “Satur- day’s final session saw an average of $18,253, a 24% increase over the same day last year and we sold 90% of the horses offered today,” Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney told Stal- lioneSearch. “We want to wish everyone contin- ued success and thank you to all of the consignors and buyers for a tremendous yearling sale.”
The highest seller at $175,000 was Hip #357 Its Jes Political (Apollitical Jess-Senorita Tres, Tres Seis) consigned by James Ranch, Agent for Walter R. Harrison and purchased by Jose (Jesse) J. Espinoza. The sorrel colt is by World Champion Apollitical Jess and is a brother to stakes winners Politicaly Correct and Brookestone Grey. Its Jes Political is out of multiple graded stakes winner Senorita Tres.
The second highest-seller was Hip #699
Uncle D (Corona Cartel-Little Surfer, First Down Dash). Consigned by Lazy E, Agent for
McColee Land & Livestock LLC, the bay colt was purchased by Donald Cavanaugh for $170,000. Uncle D is by the all-time leading living sire Corona Cartel and out of multiple stakes winner/ New Track Record setter Little Surfer, full sister to World Champion Wave Carver and Champion Ocean Runaway.
