arahs Patriot has found her groove and found her
distance. She has won her last three in a row at 870-yards, with her latest being the $35,000 Virgil Bond Stakes at Delta Downs on June 11.
Ridden by Juan Garcia Jr., the filly broke in second from the 2-post and made up ground around the turn. She dueled throughout the 870 yards with One Fast Cajun and proved best when she crossed the finish line 1 1/2-lengths in front. She stopped the timer in :46.950, while posting an 84 speed index.
The Phillip Calais Jr. trainee secured the $21,000 winner’s share of the purse for owner Gilbert Matthews, which pushed her total lifetime earnings to $84,223. She has now won a total of four races and was a finalist in the 2020 Mardi Gras Futurity-RG2 at Louisiana Downs.
Perform Stables Inc. bred Sarahs Patriot out of winner Sarahsintomischief TB. She has produced 100% winners from four starters, including Schiff’s Corner TB, who finished third in the Evangeline Downs Princess Stakes, Louisiana Jewel Stakes and Lookout Stakes. Sarahs Patriot is her first stakes winner.
One Fast Cajun (Heza Fast Dash-Cajun Rocket TB) was coming off a win his last out and he had the early lead here, but had to settle for second for owners Norman and Darrin Ladner. The Danny Hoda trainee had Ubaldo Luna in the saddle.
Losas Lil Ed (Divide The Cash-Loretta Loretta) made a big rush up the lane to claim third under Arturo Alvarez for owner Alejandro Cibrian and trainer Brenda Foster.
One Mighty Key (Western Acres TB-Key To Your Dream), Jess Louisiana Boo (Jess Louisiana Blue-La Boo Con), Masons Jet Black (Jet Black Patriot-Ruston Kitty TB), Freakkin Patriot Dash (Game Patriot-Freakin Dash) and Midnight Biscuit (Game Patriot-Biscuit Eater TB) completed the order of finish.

V was a prompt 5-2 favorite in the $100,000 400-yard Ruidoso Invitational Stakes for three year olds at Ruidoso Downs on June 11.

Candy V defeated Valiant Charm by 1 3/4-lengths in :19.548, posting a 97 speed index. Juan Pulido rode
the Apollitical Jess gelding, who earned the $42,000 winner’s share of the $100,000 purse. A Pollitical Candy V has won five of 14 starts and has banked $111,085. His record includes a second-place finish in the $212,000 Los Alamitos Winter Derby-G1 on Feb. 19.
A Pollitical Candy V was bred in California by Randy and Stacy Hill. The gelding is out of Rock Candy SA, a winning daughter of Good Reason SA, and he is a full brother to Rock A Jess V, the winner of the $90,000 Ruidoso Juvenile Stakes for two year olds the following day. A Pollitical Candy V’s second dam Send Me The Candy foaled the 2011 Southwest Juvenile Championship-G1 winner Send Me A Candy Tree.
Valiant Charm (Valiant Hero-Charmin Chief Corona) ran second for owner Juan A. Terrazas. Federico Martinez rode the gelding for trainer Martin Orona Jr.
KJ Wildthang (Apollitical Jess-Wild Six) ran third, 2 1/2-lengths behind A Pollitical Candy V. Adrian Ramos rode the gelding for owners John Lee, Kathy Lee and Ruben Mares, and trainer Wes Giles.
Apollitical Payoff (Apollitical Jess-Seis The Royal Cash), Throwin Sumoke (Apollitical Jess- Sumokin), One Slick V (One Valiant Hero-Silk Mountain), Win In Doubt (Kiss My Hocks-Cascia Babe), Empty Promise (Seperate Interest-Babe On The Fly), Hot Ivory Eyes (Ivory James-Eye Agree), and Jess A Payday (Jess Good Candy-Jess A Cartel) completed the order of finish. Jess My Disco and Misty Cracker were scratched.

sharp break from the 5-post helped Valeriano
Racing Stables LLC’s Rock A Jess V score a wire-to-wire victory in the $90,000 Ruidoso Juvenile Invitational at Ruidoso Downs on June 12.
Ridden by Juan Pulido, Rock A Jess V went 350 yards in :17.830 while defeating Aristides by a clear 1 1/4-lengths. Santos Carrizales Jr. prepped the homebred son of World Champion Apollitical Jess.
The gelding has won two of four outs and has banked $44,541, $37,800 of which was earned in this race.
Rock A Jess V was bred in Oklahoma. The gelding is out of Rock Candy SA, a winning daughter of the Favorite Trick TB stallion Good Reason
SA. His second dam, the Leaving Memories mare Send Me The Candy, won the 1996 Remington
Park Futurity-G1. A ’94 foal, Send Me The Candy produced several stakes winners, including 2011 Southwest Juvenile Championship-G1 winner Send Me A Candy Tree, a half-sister to Rock Candy SA, and Jess Send Candy, a winning half-sister to Rock Candy SA who foaled 2015 All American Futurity-G1 winner and Champion 2 year old Jess Good Candy.
Aristides (Apollitical Jess-First To Celebrate) was second for owners Gene and Tod Bradley. Raul Ramirez Jr. rode the sorrel gelding for trainer Trey Wood.
Stinebaugh Equine Enterprises LLC’s Runaway Wildfire (Walk Thru Fire-Runaway Preslee) in a late bid finished third under Francisco Calderon for trainer John Stinebaugh.
Go Diego (Foose-Dahlia) ran fourth and was followed by Free From Corona (Mr Jess Perry- Aquafina), Stone Cold Dynasty (FDD Dynasty- Black Dress), Blues Girl (A Revenant-Blues Girl Too), BV Ringo (Tempting Dash-BV Queen
