her 2014 gelding, Caraves Wave, winner of the 2016 Jerry Stojan Memorial Futurity.
Bringonthewave was foaled in Alberta, Canada, in 2015, and he
may be the best yet. Owned by Dale Zukowski and trained by James Doolin, he began his racing career in the trials for the Jerry Stojan Memorial Futurity at Grande Prairie. As the only first-time starter, the gelding blew away his competition, storming home to win by 2 1/4-lengths under jockey Adrian Gonzalez.
In the Jerry Stojan finals, again ridden by Gonzalez, Bringonthewave drew the rail, a fortuitous
Jerry Stojan Memorial Futurity
circumstance when Minuscule Monster in post two drifted out
and bothered much of the field. Bringonthewave broke in second, immediately took command, and won by a length over Minuscule Monster, who was disqualified to last.
Bringonthewave traveled to Northlands Park for the Alberta Bred Futurity-RG3. In his trial, he faced Alberta Stallion Stakes winner Mr Eleanor, who was sent off as
the odds-on favorite. With Ramiro Castillo aboard, Bringonthewave defeated the favorite by 1/2-length.
When the two met again in the finals, Bringonthewave was the
odds-on favorite, and he performed like one. Castillo broke him out
of the gate in second, and they
flew to the front. Bringonthewave continually lengthened his advantage, ultimately defeating Shawnee Cartel by 2 1/4-lengths.
Bringonthewave made it five in a row with a 1 1/4-length triumph in his trial for the Canada Quarter Horse Cup Futurity at Century Downs, again piloted by Castillo. Though Bringonthewave couldn’t keep his record perfect in the final, where he finished fifth, for the season he won five of six to continue the excellent line of Wave Carver-Special Corona.
