Valiant Diamond broke her maiden in the
$20,000 Mystic Lake Northlands Juvenile at Canterbury Park on July 7.
Ridden by Nik Goodwin and sent to post at odds of 16-1 in the field of eight 2 year olds, A Valiant Diamond defeated CR Hez The Man by 1/2-length.
Prepped by Pat Swan for owner C.A. Cofer, the filly completed the 350 yards in :18.055.
A Valiant Diamond recorded the $8,400 win- ner’s share of the $20,000 purse, as well as lifetime- best 88 speed index.
The filly was bred by Valeriano Racing
Stables LLC out of Sixy Chamisa, who earned $350,095 from 14 outs in New Mexico from 2009-11 and won the 2009 New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity-RG3 at SunRay Park and New Mexico Cup Futurity-RG2 at Zia Park.

V. Campaigned in Minnesota and Oklahoma, A Valiant Diamond has won one of four outs and has banked $10,221.
CR Hez The Man (Heza Fast Dash-LW Evening Lajolla) was second for owners Richard L. Tobin and Curt Tobin, who also bred the bay geld- ing. Cristian Esqueda rode CR Hez The Man for trainer Jason Olmstead.
PV Quarter Horse Farms LLC’s Relentless Candy (He Relentless-Roll On Candy Wagon) ran third under Cody Smith for trainer Clint Crawford.
Easy Wagon Tales (Wagon Tales-Easy Downhill), Little Bit Of Hero (Valiant Hero-Hanna B Jazzin), Aces Bodaciousbeauty (Bodacious Dash- Aces Beduino), Rose Colored Wagon (Pyc Paint Your Wagon-First Black Rose) and Harleys Wild Fire (Fighter On Fire-Its A Predy Lady) completed the field. merican Hat and Bout Tree Fiddy reached the
wire simultaneously in the $26,554 AQHA Canterbury Park Distance Challenge on July 7.
The two rivals both covered their 870-yard trips in :46.208 while earning 93 speed indexes, and their margins of victory was 6-lengths from third-place Edelman. Jorge Torres rode American Hat for owner Buckway Ranch LLC and trainer Stacy Charette- Hill, while Nik Goodwin was aboard Bout Tree Fiddy for owners Carry “Rusty” Allred and Pat Swan, who also trains the 5-year-old gelding.
American Hat was bred by Dr. Steve Burns. The gelding was coming off of a second-place finish in an 870-yard race for $15,000 claimers at Remington Park on May 16.
American Hat has won four of 18 starts and he has banked $9,493 from his first stakes victory to bring his career earnings to $34,912.
Bout Tree Fiddy was bred by his owners and has won seven of 35 outs and has earned $196,151.
Edelman (Favorite Cartel-Katie Katella) was third under Ry Eikleberry for owners Nick Hammes and John Hammes, who also trained the gelding.
Rock Wit Cha Baby (Rock Solid Jess-Arriba Reba) was fourth and was followed by Virgil Cole (BP Phoenix Reign-Conquistaprofit)
and Hastabealeader (Hasta Be Fast- Leadmetoyourladderr).

With Doug Frink aboard, Ima Dashin Follie broke in second, but was able to stick her nose out
in front at the finish line. She completed the 110 yards in :06.941 to break the previous track record of :06.968, posting a career-best 104 speed index.
Robert Johnson trains Ima Dashin Follie for owner William Joe Geditz. A 5-year-old mare, Ima Dashin Follie previously finished third in the 2018 Stablewood Farm Stakes at Los Alamitos.
Rodney Ruzsa bred Ima Dashin Follie in South Dakota from winner Dimples Dash O Denim. She has produced 100% money earners from three start- ers, two of which are winners. Ima Dashin Follie is her first stakes winner and top earner.
First Of 15 (Apollitical Jess-Tinys Corona Queen) ran second under jockey Cristian Esqueda. Jason Olmstead trains the 4-year-old filly for owner Richard Tobin. First Of 15 won the 2018 Gopher State Derby and is graded stakes-placed.
Camy and R. Allen Hybsha’s homebred Yes No Yes (Stel Corona-Quick Meggie) finished third. Eugenio Navarrete Jr. piloted the 4-year-old gelding, and R. Allen Hybsha trains him. Yes No Yes has won twice before.
Completing the field were Maghelene (One Famous Eagle-Belle Helene), Ja Go Forest Go (Gol-Ja Impetuously), Ms Haulin Chic (Dominyun- Valiant Chic), Carneros (Prospect To The Top- Cakebread And Thou), I Put It On Ya (Carters Cartel-Worth A Look) and Fast Eddys Eyeyinyou (Eye Yin You-Briefcase Cash).

distances up to 400 yards, she prefers shorter distances, having won twice at 300 yards, once in a dead heat, and once at 350 yards. She got the chance for a very quick sprint in the $17,700 Dash In A Flash Stakes at Canterbury Park on July 13, coming away with her first stakes victory.
