The 41st Annual 2017 Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders’ Association Yearling Sale saw numbers jump across the board. For
the second time in it’s history, the sale was conducted in three sessions and began with an evening session on Thursday, August
3. Preliminary results for the sale, which was conducted Aug. 3-5 at the Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, Louisiana, report 404 yearlings sold for $5,183,800 compared to 404 in 2016 selling for $4,458,400. The average increased slightly to $11,917 from $11,036, and the $6,500 median increased as well from $6,500 last year. “This is the very best sale in the history of our as- sociation.” LQHBA Executive Director Tony Patterson told Stallionesearch, “Our consignors and agents were definitely due a break after last year’s devastating weather, and I couldn’t be happier for them. We sincerely appreciate all of our buyers and wish them the very best of luck with their purchases.”
T M Ranch was the purchaser of the top seller and was the leading buyer at the sale. The top seller at $182,000 was Hip#411
