purchased by Copper Spring Ranch, Jet Black Patriot was the $725,000 high seller.
Preliminary results for the 2017 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale, held Nov. 3-4 in Oklahoma City, showed increases in gross average and median prices compared to last year’s sale. The sale average was
up 19% to $11,166 compared to last year’s average of $9,029, and the $6,500 median represented over the 2016 median of $5,550. Excluding the $725,000 sale topper, there was still a 7% increase over 2016.
“We wish everyone luck with their purchases and want to say thanks to the consignors for a great set of horses offered for sale,” stated Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney, according to stallionesearch.com. “I would also extend an invitation to consign horses now for the Winter Mixed Sale.”
The high seller at $725,000 was Hip #180 Jet Black Patriot (Game Patriot-First Down Hemp, First Down Jewel), a 2006 black stallion consigned by Robicheaux Ranch Inc., Agent for Homeland Security Investigations, and purchased by Copper Spring Ranch. The multiple graded stakes winner and New Track Record setter is the sire of nearly $10 million in earners from six crops to race. An additional 249 straws of frozen semen also sold with Jet Black Patriot, who will continue to stand at Robicheaux Ranch Inc. in Louisiana.
The second highest seller at $100,000 was Hip #353, Krash Kartel (Corona Cartel-Race Valentine, Strawfly Special), a 2010 brown stallion consigned by Chris Benedict, Agent for Aecom/URS Federal Services, Inc., and purchased by J. Abelardo Gallegos. The
