house and parents walking with them. For the neighborhood adults not driving, we offer beer or homemade Jell-O shots. We do seem to have plenty of repeat customers every year!
Q: If you could vacation anywhere
on the planet, where would it be and what would you do there?
A: Probably Scotland, and make it during a year that the British Open golf tournament is held there. My Patterson family roots began in Scotland, so I think that would really be an incredible trip.
Q: Do you have a favorite quote and, if so, what is it?
A: It’s actually an acronym for a quote, “HYB”, it simply means Handle Your Business. My dad always instilled this in
me and in all of the players that he coached. Those three words really say a whole lot!
Q: If you could sit down and visit with anyone, past or present, who would it be?
A: It would definitely be my dad, who passed away in 2007. Not a single day goes by that I don’t wish I could visit with him and go to the races or watch a baseball or a football game with him. His baseball mind was absolutely remarkable!
Q: What drink would your friends describe you as, and why?
A: Probably an enormous draft beer. When we go out, that’s usually what I will have. However, some of Dr. Larry Findley’s crew may say “Irish Car Bomb” – but that’s a whole other story!
Q: Who’s your favorite athlete of all time, and why?
A: Tough one, but I would have to say Drew Brees. He never let his size or a possible career
ending shoulder injury prevent him from being one of the best ever. Anyone who leads the Saints to their first ever Super Bowl victory would have to be my favorite athlete.
Q: If you were making a movie about yourself, who would you cast to play you, and why?
A: Woody Harrelson. All of his films seem to be good mainly because of him. He may even be able to somehow keep that movie from being a total flop!
Q: What’s one thing you don’t like about Quarter Horse racing?
A: Nothing.
Q: What’s one thing you like about Quarter Horse racing?
A: EVERYTHING!
