Blazing Navarone’s fourth dam, the win- ning New Mexico-bred King Of The Castle mare Western Saint, finished second in two stakes in New Mexico during her 2-year-old campaign, including the 1982 Dessie Sawyer Futurity at Albuquerque Downs.
Campaigned exclusively in New Mexico, Blazing Navarone has earned $328,226, of which $211,000 has been pocketed from six starts this year. He won three stakes during the 2017-18 Sunland Park meet, including the 1 1/16-mile, $100,000 New Mexico Breeders’ Derby (R) on March 25.
