Dear Readers,
If you are a person who is on time, you can skip the column this month. If you are not, I have a bone to pick with you.
Punctuality is one of the great character values. It benefits all who believe in its worth. Being on time takes some planning – most importantly, admitting to ourselves that being on time matters. There are no excuses for being late, barring true emergencies, being on time is completely within your control.
My favorite excuses lie within the realm of the Zodiac. I don’t know why people love to tell me they’re fated for being late. I can have as good a chuckle as most, but your being chronically late is a complete lack of respect and disregard for one of my most precious commodities – time.
Being punctual strengthens and reveals your integrity. By telling someone you will meet them at a certain time, you have essentially made a promise, and if you arrive late, you have both broken that promise and revealed that you are not a person of your word.
So, let’s be on time; let’s be there when we say we’ll be there.
Here are some ways to improve your arrival time:
• Set alarms, our smartphones have tons of options for reminders.
• Prepare, includes paperwork and clothing.
• Avoid distractions.
• Put events in the calendar, again with the smartphone technology.
There are countless benefits
for being on time, chiefly the communication that others can trust and rely on you.

Bin Blessed provides help to families

The “Bin Babes” came together in July at Douglas County Libraries – Castle Pines
to assemble 50 backpacks for There With Care, a nonprofit organization that provides thoughtful and fundamental services to families and children during the critical phase of a medical crisis.
This is the sixth year Bin Blessed has reached out to help parents who are already under financial and emotional stress caring
for their sick child by supplying school-ready backpacks for other children in the home.
“It is a joy to give them much needed relief by shopping for their other children’s school needs,” stated Bin Blessed founder Cy DeBoer. “We have ‘Bin Blessed’ by so many generous hearts living right in Castle Pines,” she continued. There were many others who donated, but those pictured below are the ladies who participated in the assembly line.
