For a haunting, howling and horrifying Halloween experience, carefully enter the Castle of Terror at the Fire Department Training Tower, 303 Malibu Street in Castle Rock. If you frighten easily, be sure to creep through the tower with a fellow soul to ward off the spirits hidden deep inside the stronghold. No one younger than 13 is admitted without an adult because ghouls, zombies and poltergeists haunt the hallways 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Enter if you dare on October 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28. Spooktacular at the Miller Activity Complex (MAC) is a fun and safe Halloween event
for the entire family. There will be games, bounce houses, face painting, prizes, food

Learn about mysterious stories and ghostly happenings in local history of Castle Rock
and the surrounding areas on October 12 from 6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Douglas County Libraries Philip S. Miller in Castle Rock. Senior Archivist of the Douglas County Libraries, Sean Boyd, will tell tales of spooky events of the past and how researchers try to record these events today. Jake Jacobs from Colorado Paranormal Investigators will be on hand with paranormal research equipment. Refreshments will be served. Ride the rails behind a historic Denver & Rio Grande Steam Locomotive “Trick or Treat Train” in vintage passenger cars with conductors and engineers at the Colorado Railroad Museum. Kids can visit the “Town’s” special stops to fill their treat
bags and tickle their funny bones at the “not so spooky” Haunted Railcar and the Olde Railroaders’ Silly Graveyard. This fun event

Take off to Hauntings at the Hangar at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum on October 29 from Noon to 4 p.m. Wear a freaky, fun, or friendly costume and hover around sci-fi characters or possibly real aliens. Get a real treat as you take a picture with "Star Wars" characters and other popular super heroes. There will be carnival games, a bounce house, a jumbo slide, pedal planes and movie-themed cars. On October 14 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., tour the historic grave sites in Cedar Hill Cemetery with members of the Castle Rock Historical Society (CRHS) who will portray some of the local people in our past history. Cedar Hill was founded in 1875 and contains the remains of pioneers significant in the early history of Castle Rock and Douglas County. Refreshments will be served following the tour. The tour is free, and reservations are not required.
The CRHS is having an evening walk through the Bear Canyon Cemetery in Sedalia on October 28 at 5 p.m. Located by St. Philip-in- the-Field Church at 397 North Perry Park Road, the church and cemetery were founded in 1872 and were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Refreshments will be served following the tour. The tour is free, and reservations are not required.
