Halloween fun and a-mazing places

The Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce annual Trick or Treat Street in Castle Pines spells fun, candy and prizes for ghosts and goblins. Kids come in costumes and bring a bag for
all the loot. Participating businesses along Castle Pines Parkway and The Village Shops
at Happy Canyon and Santa Fe will pass out special treats and goodies. Look for the paper pumpkin in the window of the businesses that are participating. Masks must be worn when entering a business. For more information, visit www.castlepineschamber.com.
Spooktalcular, at the Philip S. Miller Park
in Castle Rock will be on Saturday, October 24 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. This year the fun will be held outdoors at the Amphitheater and the Millhouse. There will be games, food, prizes and candy. Kids are encouraged to wear family-friendly Halloween costumes. Spooktacular is free but does require all family members to register for the event at www.crgovregistration.com.
Join the annual free Tour of Cedar Hill Cemetery on Saturday, October 10 at 4:30 p.m. The 45-minute tour will be limited to 40 people and reservations are required. Learn about the history of the cemetery that was established in

Ghostly & Tragic Tales of Castle Rock
walking tours will be held on Thursdays, October 1, October 8, October 22 and October 29. The 45-minute tours are free and begin at the Castle Rock Museum, 420 Elbert Street at 7 p.m. There is a limit of 25 people for each tour. Reservations are required by calling
the museum at 303-814-3164 or by emailing museum@castlerockhistoricalsociety.org.
Looking for corn mazes? A few are close by and are sure to be fun for families.
Scramble through a corn maze at the Fall Festival at Flat Acres Farm in Parker. Check out the giant Jenga, hay rides, bounce house, corn hole games, petting zoo...the list goes on. A family run farm, The Patch in Elizabeth at 39980 Fox Trot Road has many activities for children. There is a pumpkin patch, The Wild West corn maze and a petting zoo of animals raised on the farm. Enjoy hayrides, bucking bronco train and much more. The patch is open until November 8 on Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is also open for fall break, October 13 and 14. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Corn Maze at the Botanic Gardens at Chat eld Farms is open Fridays through Sundays
until October 31. Wind through the 7-acre corn maze and pick a pumpkin from a 10-
acre pumpkin patch. No Halloween masks

With record-breaking days of above 90 degrees, the heat of summer
has nally given way
to the cooler crisp air
of fall. The Village at Castle Pines celebrated its annual Oktoberfest with German music and food and a drive-in style movie. Early revelers had the opportunity to feel the warm sun on their shoulders and take in a game or two of Frisbee golf at the Canyon Club playing eld.
