LEBANON
Right of Return: Passing the Torch
UPA has long supported impactful interventions in the lives of the elderly in the refugee camps of Lebanon, such as Borj Al Barajneh, Shatila, and Nahr El Bared. These activities include the distribution of hot meals, health related counseling such as individual physiotherapy sessions, as well as home visits and group social activities.
Among these interventions was a series of 31 multi- generational activities designed to preserve heritage while reducing social isolation. These exchanges foster profound connections that preserve memory, culture, and tradition. Protecting against the erasure of Palestinian identity, our initiatives link the past with the future through activities that facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
Our work in Lebanon ensures that Palestinian identity will not be erased, despite all efforts to do so, and builds a solid foundation beneath the feet of future generations. By celebrating and preserving our rich heritage, UPA affirms that the spirit of Palestine endures in the hearts and minds of its people. In Lebanon, we can say with confidence that the legacy of Palestinian culture remains vibrantly alive. We know, because we help to keep it that way. We are here to stay.
