John began his scouting adventure when he joined Cub Pack 483 in September 2012 and earned his Bobcat, Bear, and Webelos Ranks and the Arrow of Light Award. He crossed over to Troop 482 in February 2017 and earned his First Class Rank in November 2020. John has served his Troop as Historian, Quartermaster, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Order of the Arrow Representative, and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.
John is an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow and has earned 34 Merit Badges and the BSA Lifeguard. He has attended summer camp at Camps Ottari, Skymont Scout Reservation, and Summit Bechtel High Adventure.
John’s Eagle Project consisted of building a large cart for the Cheer Team at Fleming Island High School. This replaced a cart that was repeatedly breaking down and inoperable. The cart holds large mats that the Cheer Team uses, allowing the team to transport the mats efficiently during different events such as football games.
John is a graduate of Fleming Island High School where he was a member of the Varsity Cheerleading Team and a member of the ROTC. He also earned the Marine Aptitude Award. John’s post-graduation plans include attending either the University of Central Florida or the University of Florida to pursue a degree in a STEM field such as Aerospace Engineering or Robotic Engineering. He is also considering enlisting in the military. In the future, John would like to pursue a career in a research and development field to help develop new technologies.
