 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SENIORS!
“SWIMMING HAS TAUGHT ME THAT SUCCESS COMES FROM HARD WORK, NOT JUST TALENT, EVERY LAP, NO MATTER HOW CHALLENGING, IS PROGRESS. WHEN THINGS GET HARD, THAT’S WHEN YOU GROW STRONGER. KEEP SWIMMING, KEEP PUSHING, AND TRUST THAT ALL YOUR EFFORT WILL PAY OFF.” DEAN
“MY ADVICE IS TO ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT SWIMMING ISN’T
JUST ABOUT WINNING; IT’S A JOURNEY, A JOURNEY IN WHICH YOU’LL LAUGH, YOU’LL CRY, AND YOU’LL PROBABLY SWALLOW A FEW GALLONS OF WATER BUT THROUGH IT ALL, YOU’LL LEARN VALUABLE LESSONS ABOUT DEDICATION, TEAMWORK, PERSERVERANCE, AND THE POWER OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT.” JEANIE
“AS YOU EMBARK ON YOUR JOURNEY ON THE SWIM TEAM, REMEMBER THAT COMMITMENT AND TEAMWORK ARE ESSENTIAL. ATTEND ALL PRACTICES, GIVE YOUR BEST EFFORT, AND FOCUS ON IMPROVING YOUR TECHNIQUE RATHER THAN JUST SPEED. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOUR TEAMMATES AND CREATE A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT THAT ENHANCES BOTH YOUR PERFORMANCE AND ENJOYMENT OF THE SPORT. DON’T HESITATE TO ASK YOUR COACHES OR FELLOW SWIMMERS FOR ADVICE; EVERYONE WAS NEW AT SOME POINT, AND THEY CAN HELP YOU NAVIAGATE THE CHALLENGES.” VENTI
“YOU CAN SIMPLY SWIM AND BE ON THE TEAM, WHICH IS PERFECTLY FINE, OR YOU CAN WORK HARD AND PUT PASSION INTO WHAT YOU’RE DOING, SEEING THE PRGRESS AND GROWTH OF WHATEVER YOU WORKED FOR, THIS DOESN’T HAVE TO BE SWIM, AS LONG AS YOU GIVE THE BEST FOR WHAT YOU WANT.” GRANT
“IT’S BEEN A GIFT SWIMMING WITH EVERYONE THESE FOUR YEARS. MY ADVICE IS YOU ARE NOT GOING TO REMEMBER THE TIMES YOU HAVE SEEN AS MUCH AS YOUR EXPERIENCES ON TH E TEAM ITSELF. 0F COURSE YOU SHOULD PUT YOUR BEST EFFORT INTO THE SPORT, BUT AT THE SAME TIME REMEMBER THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE IN THE WORLD YOU CAN BE A SHARK ON THE PONTE VEDRA HIGH SCHOOL SWIM TEAM. DO YOUR BEST, SHOW UP TO PRACTICE, AND REMEMBER THIS TEAM IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT. REACH OUT TO OTHERS, CHEER ON SOMEONE NEW, I LEARNED THAT EVEN JUST A PASSING SMILE AT SCHOOL IS SO IMPORTANT IN CREATING THE TEAM CULTURE.
