• Thyroxine is the most abundant hormone produced by the thyroid.
• However, each hormone is vital and they work together to regulate metabolism, growth, and development, and the activity of the nervous system.
• A surplus of these hormones will produce hyperthyroidism and a reduction will cause hypothryoidism.
