ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY
• The spleen is the largest reticuloendothelial system and is an intraperitoneal organ.
• The spleen is considered the largest lymphatic organ as well.
• It is located in the LUQ just below the diaphragm.
• The spleen’s main objective is to filter the peripheral blood.
