SONOGRAPHY OF THE SPLEEN
• Most often, the spleen is best visualized with deep inspiration and the patient lying on their right side.
• The normal spleen appears isoechoic to the liver although it may be slightly less echogenic.
• The adult spleen is concave, pointed inferior margin and convex superior border.
• The size of the adult spleen varies with age and sex.
