Valentin JQM, a four-year-old bay gelded son of Champion Separatist owned and trained by Jesus Torres-Casas, sprinted to a clear wire-to-wire 1 1/2-length victory in the $15,000 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes at Arizona Downs on June 8.
Ridden by Martin Osuna and racing against a reported 18-mph head wind, Valentin JQM covered 250 yards in :13.349. The California-bred gelding earned a 93 speed index and the $8,250 winner’s share of the purse from his first career stakes score.
Valentin JQM, who was extending his win streak to four races, was bred by Pedro Barbizan Santiago Leite. The gelding is out of Corona Perfection, a winning and stakes-placed daughter of Corona Cartel who was a finalist in the 2002 La Primera Del Ano Derby-G2 at Los Alamitos.
Valentin JQM has now won four of 10 starts -- including both of his outs at the 250-yard trip -- and he has banked $26,752, of which $22,297 has been pocketed from four races this year. The gelding’s win streak includes a 2 1/4-length win in a 250-yard maiden-special-weight dash at Turf Paradise on February 19.
Runner-up First Lady Perry (Mr Jess Perry-First Lady Amber) earned $3,000 for her owner, Scott McDaniel. Kevin Carbajal rode the multiple stakes winning 5-year-old mare for trainer John Allred.
Republic Anne (Apollitical Jess-First Fancy Racy) finished third. Julian Serrano rode the stakes- placed 3-year-old filly for owner Jose Antonio de Santiago and trainer Jesus E. Olivas-Valenzuela.
Mrs Angel Jess (Dash Master Jess-Mrs Eye Angel) ran fourth and was followed officially by Triple Vodka Jess (Triple Vodka-Divas Little Candy), Check This Wagon (Paintyourownwagon-Check N Chick Out), Untouchable Lover (Mr Jess Perry-Hold Me Now) and DQ’d from 7th to last Saginaw Trail (FDD Dynasty-Southernrunaway).

Jorge Murillo’s Tierra De Los Lobos, the fifth- fastest qualifier, scored his first stakes win in the 350-yard $15,050 Five Livestock Company/Rod Mills Memorial Derby at the Jerome County Fair in south central Idaho on June 20.
Ridden by Jesus Flores and aided by a 17-mph tail wind, Tierra De Los Lobos broke on the lead and received every call to hold off all challengers.
He stopped the timer in :17.749, which was good for a 96 speed index while defeating CD Son Of Farm Boss by a head.
Trainer Juan Sanguino prepped the brown gelded son of the PYC Paint Your Wagon stallion Wagons West.
Tierra De Los Lobos has now won two of seven starts while racing in two state and competing at Grants Pass, Cassia Fair, Oneida Fair and Pocatello Downs, beside Jerome County Fair.
The $6,020 winner’s share of the $15,050 purse pushed his bankroll to $7,270.
Tierra De Los Lobos was bred in Utah by Peterson Stallion Farm LLC, and he made his sophomore season debut with a wire-to-wire victory in the first of two trials on June 6.
The gelding is out of the lightly raced Reina De La Noche, a daughter of the Chicks Beduino stal- lion Corona King.
Seventh fastest qualifier CD Son Of Farm
Boss (BF Farm Boss-Bella Nonna) earned the $3,010 runner-up share of the purse for his owner Kylie Aguirre Valenzuela. Todd Thomas rode the Oregon-bred gelding for trainer Garth Blattner. CD Son Of Farm Boss has yet to break his maiden, but was a finalist in the Pocatello Downs Maiden Frolic Consolation.
Oh Jangles (Feature Mr Bojangles-Oh La Hot) finished in third place, a neck behind CD Son Of Farm Boss, and pocketed the $1,505 third-place share of the purse for owner Juventino Ortiz. Jockey Cesar Moreno rode the Idaho-bred gelding for trainer Freddy Olmos. Oh Jangles is still look- ing for that illusive victory. He also was a finalist in the Pocatello Downs Maiden Frolic Consolation.
California Dreamin (Separate Secrets- Brownleggedwoman) finished in fourth position and was followed by fastest qualifier Cartels Breakout (Agouti-Jess Breakout), Miss Corona Time (Open Me A Corona-Time For Noble), Conquer The Riches (Concorde’s Appeal TB-Race To Riches), and Lady Blue Patriot (Jess Louisiana Blue-Fancy First Down).

Thiseagle Has Landed went off as the even money favorite and he didn’t disappoint, winning the $20,000 Northern Plains Futurity at Chippewa Downs on June 20.
Thiseagle Has Landed stepped away from the 5-post and got the first call. Halfway down the lane, he already was 1-length to the good. Jockey Evan Herman used good sense and stayed out of his mounts’ way. They crossed the line 1 3/4-length and in front, stopping the clock at 18.312.
The gelded son of Moonin The Eagle earned an 86 speed index and a first place check worth $10,000. That ups his total lifetime earnings to $21,185, and his race record stands at three wins out of four starts. Connections include owners Robert Wilson and Jason Smith, and Cole Wilson is in charge of conditioning.
Womack/Cavender Farms bred Thiseagle
Has Landed out of multiple winner Fantastic Six. She has produced nine winners from 14 starters, including Days Gone Down, who finished second in the Remington Park Juvenile; One Fantastic
Gal, who finished second in the QHRA Of Indiana Derby; and Capital Ice, who was third in the Firecracker Futurity-G2.
Jess Perrys Gol (Dashing Jess Perry-Shez A
Gol Mind) was clearly second best on this day. His team includes owner John Bubel and trainer Jamie Herman. Joel Estrada was in the irons.
Shesa Royal Jess (Dashing Jess Perry-Tempered Red) ran a steady and even race to bank third place money. She is owned by John Bubel and trained by Robert Herman. Brian Beetem was aboard.
Corona For An Eagle (Corona B-Such An Easy Eagle), Shesa Dashin Jes (Dashing Jess Perry-Shesa Easy Victory) and Dancing Hula (Captain Toshky- Rare Hula) completed the order of finish. Ima Dashing Volcom was scratched.
