pulling shoots from fields of plastic — cutting sunflowers under fluorescent,
trimming fat from a cows thigh still there is a something

a character who has been in all the stories the very heart
a main character who plays supporting roles and remains pulling taffy in the middle
for others
unaware of held in breath
the eye comes level with the audience
In my sleep, I am an oyster. I am the sea. Always a bivalve - I am an old man and oyster. I would like to live as a monk, but life's a lot better in this car with a window driving drunks up and down a receding coast.
