As the light source in the bon!re will burn wood at the !re {its centre} the !re will keep on shining— the !re will melt clay, sand and magma (which can give you gold, but it isn't practical): there are 4 bon!res in the homestead, a !re will take 1 hour to melt your shit. This will melt 5 tons of earth into sand with the help of stone. A bon!re on the homestead is an hour away so better your dwarves get some rest & water by cooking whatever excrement you have left
