Mr. James H. Craig is the owner of James Craig Fine & Decorative Arts and works with great passion to deliver stellar creative work. Mr. Craig has brought his skills to several different roles throughout his career demonstrating his innate ability to adapt with success in past positions. In 1962, Mr. Craig was the curator for decorative arts at the North Carolina Office of Archives and History in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1965, he authored the book, The Arts and Crafts in North Carolina, for the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts. That same year, he opened James Craig Fine & Decorative Arts, where he served as president until 1969, and is currently still owner. Additionally, from
1969 until 1985, he acted as president of Craig & Tarlton, Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina. Today, he practices as a fine arts consultant in Sarasota, Florida.
Mr. Craig was born in South Carolina, though his endless pursuit for artistic knowledge has brought him to numerous locations all over the United States. He has received proper training while completing coursework at the University of South Carolina, the University of Cincinnati, and The Juilliard School. In 1960, he traveled across the Atlantic to one of the art capitals of the world, Paris, France to further his education in the arts. After completing his education, he entered
