Serving in different capacities throughout the United States and abroad in Vietnam, Japan, Germany, and Panama, he advanced through the ranks to command sergeant major in 1987. Stationed at the U.S. Army Information Systems Command Signal Battalion at Fort Buckner in Okinawa, Japan, for five years, he was subsequently stationed at the U.S. Army Information Systems in White Sands, New Mexico, for one year and at the 1109th Signal Brigade at Fort Clayton in Panama for the following three years, where he served in Operation Just Cause.
Between 1990 and 1993, he was stationed at the U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, before serving as a technical control representative and then chief of the Electronics Service Branch at Fort McPherson in Georgia until his retirement in 2011. Aside from his military career, Mr. Threat also worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as an account representative and obtained a teaching license to work as a substitute high school teacher. Likewise, he has contributed articles to newspapers and magazines throughout Arizona. He has maintained affiliation with the National Rifle Association, the Non-Commissioned Officers Association, AFCEA International, the Signal Corp Regimental Association, the Tucson Rod and Gun Club, the Cochise Gun Club, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
Interested in the military from a formative age, Mr. N.E. Threat graduated from high school and entered the United States Army, where he served from 1964 to
1993.
Drawing upon an Associate of General Studies from Central Texas College and a Bachelor of Science from the University of the State of New York from 1984 and 1988, respectively, Mr. Threat also took a directorate of information management course at Fort Gordon in Georgia in 2010. He previously graduated from the Sergeant Majors Academy in Fort Bliss, Texas, in 1984. Furthermore, in 2005 he was licensed to preach the Gospel at the Wye Mountain Baptist Church. With respect to his military contributions, Mr. Threat earned the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, an Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal Ninth Award, a
National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. Mr. Threat attributes his success to his mother, who introduced him and his siblings to the Christian faith and dedicated her efforts in providing her children with a premier education. Moreover, he attributes his success to his many mentors over the years, including educators, pastors, and military officers. Among the highlights of his career, he is proudest to have been afforded the opportunity to counsel younger men and women who aspire to become members of the military and serve their nation. In the future, he intends to continue educating and mentoring young professionals.
