Sauce Boyz
Fifth generation entrepreneurs are cranking it up!
The five Orrison boys, Turner (11) Odin (9) Asa (7) Marin (5) and the real boss Groves (1 1/2) have taken on a new career lately. Even Turner, the eldest, has radically changed his dream career of becoming a “pizza cook in the Army” to a new direction.
These boys are the five sons of Brad and Kikie Orrison, owner of The Shed BBQ &
Blues Joint and
the Saucery co-
packing facility
in South Missis-
sippi. Living for
the past few
months in a “no
school zone” the
boys have been
going to work
with Brad quite a
bit at the
Saucery. With
22,000 square
feet to play/work
in they have learned how to drive a fork lift, label sauce bottles, open end- less cans, how to run the line and most importantly how to clean and sanitize properly. Basically, they learned the basics of sauce making while making total mess out of the entire kitchen.
A great meeting of the minds includ-
ing neighborhood boys, Cannon,
Stone, Wyatt and Garrett came to-
gether to make the decision of “what
kind of sauce” should be made. They
made little batches of a bbq sauce, a
hot sauce, even a spaghetti sauce but
the conclusion was to make Ketchup!
Of course! all kids love Ketchup! The
boys decided that a ketchup recipe
must be "really old” so they reached
out to their “really old” Paw Paw
(Daddy O) and he found a “really old”
recipe from a 1937 cookbook. They
perfected the ketchup based on neigh-
bor kids opinions built a ramshackle (it’s in the blood) restaurant in their front yard called “Smoke and Fire, cooked hot dogs, omelets, grilled zucchini, for some strange reason grilled french toast and other delicacies - all served with the Sauce boyz’ almost world famous Ketchup.
The Sauce Boyz have reserved their own time at the Saucery to bottle their Kid’s Ketchup, made by Kids for Kids. No adults are al- lowed to help, not even with the heavy parts. Picture this: A congo line of Orrison boys all decked out with, gloves, masks, hairnets, some serious ketchup making on their minds with only an occasional knock down drag out fight amongst them.
  knows what else may
When sauce making gets bor- ing the boys have some Saucery fun. Go carts come out, skateboards, rid- ing office chairs in circles, sketching out a sauce machine to shoot sauce into a huge pile of french fries from 100 feet away and who emerge.

The Sauce Boyz first video caught the attention of Victornox Swiss Army knives and they were nice enough to send the boys boxes of kitchen uten- sils for them to show and explain on their youtube channel. From a very young age the Orrison boys have been taught how to properly and safely use kitchen utensils including knives and will be sharing that information with their friends on youtube.com/theshedbbq/thesauce- boyz
If in these sometimes dreary days that you and your kids need a good laugh, some inspiration to cook or create just tune into the Sauce Boyz’ adventures. There will never be a dull moment.
The first 100 gallon batch of Kid
Ketchup is made and for sell on theshedbbq.com. Hope you buy some because they already have
