Welcome to the year 2020, it rolls o昀 the tongue so well. Same as Louisville, KY which happens to be where the NBBQ conference will be held this year the 昀rst weekend in April. The NBBQA conference is always a great way to connect and learn all our NBBQA members. As I re昀ect on my past years as a NBBQA member and opening my family’s BBQ restaurant, I am reminded how supportive and encouraging the members of NBBQA were. Individuals who are legends of BBQ, and rookies of the industry. It did not mat- ter from whom... There’s always something to learn. Which is why it is so important as you enter into 2020, to remember as NBBQA members, be willing to share knowledge. And as an individual realize that now is the time to listen to the legends, learn about new opportunities and grow your Business of BBQ.

As a past president and current board member I always get excited to see and meet new mem- bers that we are serving. I get even more excited when they start asking questions and connecting with members. This simple process is what has kept me a member of NBBQA for over 20 years and what continues to drive my con昀dence in this organization.
