February is the month of love. Chocolates are purchased to go with those beautiful flowers for your special love. Then there are those heart shaped candies with the little messages stamped on them. They taste like chalk with a bit of sugar, but we all love to get a small box to share. Engagements abound as jewelers sell di- amonds. Stuffed teddy bears are carried out of stores by the tough- est of men just to make their love smile. Romance is in the air as star-crossed lovers walk hand in hand along the beach in the moonlight. Looking into the eyes of your hearts desire through the flicker of candles over a romantic dinner. Yep, the month of love.
When it comes to the world of BBQ many of you are sitting there reading this thinking, “That’s exactly how I feel about cooking over a fire.” Nothing is too outlandish or embarrassing to put on the grill. We wake up early to place a brisket on the smoker. Volunteer to grill the burgers at the neighborhood block party. We’ll read a cookbook with the same fervor as our moms read the Harlequin Romance novels. When you’re in love, you are consumed by this desire. You may not always agree but you never give up (think about the last stall you had when smoking a pork butt).
