Which one should you buy? That is up to you. After buy- ing Matt’s video, I decided to take a look at Terry’s. It was equally insightful and valuable. While they both cook steaks that consistently get calls, their style and technique is not the same and I gained a few more nuggets of infor- mation for the toolbox. Learning is a continuum of infor- mation and ideas and tapping multiple sources only gives you a better understanding to work from.
A question I asked Mike, Matt and Terry was, “How do you keep the content current?” I am assuming that cooking techniques and even rubs might evolve over time. Fortu- nately, that is covered if you have the all-access pass. Each month, in addition to seeing answers to all the questions other students asked, they will be posting a “Pro Tip of the Month”. These tips will cover the evolution they are expe- riencing at competitions. With the all-access pass, you will always be in the know and on the pulse of what the top cooks are doing, using and experiencing.
The energy and passion is clear. The cooks that Mike fea- tures are competing against the students they are sharing their secrets with ... and the students are winning! These grillers are sharing what they are using to win and their
track record validates their credentials. Do you want to know what actually wins contests or do you want to watch a YouTube video with unproven theories?
Finally, there is the competitive and entrepreneurial spirit that I was privileged to witness that is prevalent in the BBQ world. Mike taking a risk to bring distance learning to mar- ket. Matt bringing his Wicked Pig products to the competi- tive circuit and Terry with his proven line of BXtreme rubs and seasonings. All working to elevating the sport of cook- ing.
