brisket. You can cook anything on this grill and will hold a 100-pound whole hog with all the trimmings. This stick burner is one of my favorite rib cookers. There is some- thing to be said about the beautiful smoke and the old-time bbq aroma that makes the entire neighborhood smell bet- ter! Orion Grill There is a little cooker called an Orion that is also very fun to cook on. The cooker looks like a can with a lid on it. Your charcoal is placed along the outside ring and on the lid. The charcoal is never exposed to the meat and just cooks with heat from the outside. We add wood chips and liquid to the bottom pan and helps it do an excellent job of get- ting the smoke flavor to the food. There are hangers for the ribs and shelves for cooking butts or chicken. My friend Tom cooks wings in his Orion and they are as good as I have ever had. If you have never cooked on an Orion, you should watch some youtube videos on the cooker and see more of what you are missing out on. They are enjoyable to cook on and do a great job with fast-paced cooking and grilling. PK Grills - With the rapid growth of the SCA steak cookoff events are popping up all over the country. Anyone who gets a PK and a set of GrillGrates can compete and turn in a high-quality steak. Having a PK on your back porch gives you the ability to impress your friends and family while keeping yourself happy with the best New York Strips and Ribeyes you have ever eaten. The Pk and GrillGrates combination also cre- ates the prettiest and juiciest hamburgers ever. Sorry if you need to add on to your existing patio or porch to make room for more cookers. The PK is a must-have in your cooking arsenal! Weber Kettle and Weber Smokey Mountain No collection of grills can be complete without a Weber Kettle or a Weber Smokey Mountain (or both). Several grill masters have won steak cookoffs with Webers. An old school backyard barbecue can be produced on a Weber as well. When you get your new Weber make sure and check out Team Unknown and order their hinges. You will then have one of the best cookers you could ever own. This covers a few of my favorite cookers and we did not even talk about Traegers, Fast Eddy's or Ole Hickory Pits. We had a class over the weekend and cooked on a lot of dif- ferent cookers while putting out a lot of food to spread the love of cooking bbq to a lot of great people. Feed people bbq. It makes them happy. See everyone at a BBQ event soon. OCTOBER 2019 BarbecueNews.com - 15
