What will teams learn?
Start up teams will learn about the contest rules, the proper way to present their entries, learn about what they need / don't need for a contest, learn about timelines and working against the clock in a smaller, less costly contest.
Why start here?
Tailgate contests are a great way to "get your feet wet" be- fore jumping all in. Deciding if this is a new adventure you will be adding to your future. It's a great stepping stone to bigger contests later. It's a great way to meet fellow BBQ enthusiasts and build a relationship. MOST contests have seasoned BBQ representatives that are there to help you and guide you.

Northeast Barbecue Society 2021 Team of the Year
What is Team of the Year?
The Northeast Barbecue Society (NEBS) recognizes compe- tition teams that have been top performers throughout the barbecue season via the Team of the Year (TOY) program. The TOY program awards points for eligible BBQ Competi- tions within the Northeast region which includes the fol- lowing states: ME, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, NH and PA. Eligibility criteria are outlined for each TOY category on the website at www.nebs.org/TOY.
What are the General Requirements?
In order for a competition team to have its scores count towards any of the NEBS TOY honors, the chief cook that signed the contest appli- cation for the team must be a paid member of NEBS when registering for Team of the Year and at the end of the year. More detailed informa- tion at www.nebs.org/TOY
Who should sign up?
EVERYONE!! Don't you want the "bling"? Don't you want bragging rights?
Do I need experience?
If you are new - then Rookie Team of the Year is for YOU!
What about my Kids and their competitions in Kid'sQue?
YES! We do have a Kid's Que TOY as well! Sign 'em up!
