This new organization will focus on giving kids the oppor- tunity to learn real-life skills while teaching them to feed themselves. It will also give kids the opportunity to earn scholarships to help further their education.
The old African proverb that says, “It takes an entire village to raise a child” has always been a favorite of mine. This simple but honest saying is especially true in the world we live in today. If you look around at the different communi- ties in the world you can see the impact a community can have on its own youth.
I am very thankful that our barbecue and grilling commu- nity has always welcomed new comers to become part of their community. This open door to
the world is one of the main reasons
I love this #BBQfamily.
The welcome mat to join the #BBQ- family has always been opened to the youth of our community but it is about to expand to welcome in the entire youth of the world with the World Junior BBQ League. This ex- citing non-profit organization is going to work to ensure that all kids have the shot at being a part of something bigger than themselves while learning to provide for them- selves.
The first event opportunity to help this organization will come on Au- gust 7th during the SCA double event to be held in Horn Lake, Mis- sissippi (just a few miles south of Memphis, Tennessee). There you will be able to learn much more about the mission of this new organ- ization and also learn about many different ways you can get involved with this life changing group.
