As a manager dealing with di cult situa ons with employees, John

Manager has a few things
to keep in mind:
1. Know what you want to get out of the talk and what the end result will be.
2. Keep your resolve and don’t get distracted from reaching your end result.
3. Think posi ve thoughts about the person
you will talk to believing a posi ve outcome is
possible.
4. Resolve to be absolutely, brutally honest during
the conversa on.
5. Respect the individual, even when he or she
