ALAN HOWELL,PT,ATC
It has been an honor to serve and work with therapists that have a passion for their profession and their patients. I am honored to be nominated for Director II. This position allows me to continue to service the OPTA as well as vote as a member of the board. I started my association with OPTA at the local level as the Southwest District Payment Chair. Moving to Legislative Chair after working on the Direct Access Bill, and finally to the State Affairs Chair.
I am a private practice owner for many years, who has two offices in Cincinnati. My career has allowed me to have many wonderful experiences including The Olympics in 1992 in Barcelona and 1996 in Atlanta. I was the head trainer in swimming, water polo, and field hockey. I was privileged to be elected to the Hall of Fame for my high school and college and U.S. Lacrosse State of Ohio Hall of Fame. This year I will be placed in the Hall of Fame at Mount St. Joseph University for my service to the school.
I was honored in 2019 at the APTA State Affairs Meeting in Arlington, VA., to be presented with the Leadership Award with the help of our outstanding committee, advocacy staff, and leadership of the OPTA.
I ask for your vote to continue to make OPTA the best component in the APTA. I pledge to listen and lead our organization with pride.
MICHELLE LOSURDO, PT, DPT
It is an honor to be considered for the position of Director II for the Ohio Physical Therapy Association.
As the driving force for advancing physical therapist practice, OPTA is an asset to my patients, my professional development, and my profession. A wise person said, “Surround yourself with those on the same mission as you.” This is OPTA to me.
My OPTA journey began in 2008 as clinical editor of ACCESS and then co-chair of the Public Relations Committee in 2009. As chair of the Conference Committee from 2015 to 2020, it has been my pleasure
to collaborate with the committee, speakers, and conference-goers and learn what is important to OPTA members. Our healthcare system is being tested to its limits; physical therapy professionals rise to the challenge, providing vital healthcare throughout Ohio. Now, more than ever, we rely on our strong academic and clinical skills, desire to learn, and grit as we continue to grow as a profession.
I have worked in several states, and am pleased to call Ohio my home, especially when it comes to physical therapy. My roles as outpatient clinician and adjunct professor in one of Ohio’s leading PTA programs give me firsthand knowledge of current challenges. I hope to serve OPTA as a positive voice for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students in Ohio.
I am asking for your vote to serve as Director II for OPTA. Thank you for your consideration.
