Some of the issues can be alleviated by doing what we should be—continual train- ing—with all of our mutual aid partners. At first, I was skeptical. It seemed to me to be Fire Command on steroids. I have to admit, this old dog did learn a few new tricks. Education to see other, maybe even better, ways of doing things is the name of
the game, and for new officers who have had little command experience, Blue Card should be required. If nothing else, it gives new officers a good perspective of the overall mission of command, everyone goes home. u
