one thing we have learned
from the roller coaster of the last few years is the need for flexibility in the world of Beverage Alcohol. We are seeing weather challenges in many parts of the world reducing yields. Major growing regions have been impacted by hail, fires, storms,
and smoke causing significant disruptions in production. Add in glass and can shortages that have put strain on production in bottling and canning. Compile all of that with delays in logistics that all industries are facing and often now
the items we want, and love, have been challenging to acquire or not available when we need them.
In our industry, sourcing quality products consistently is vital in running a successful business and predicting when something will be in stock has become even more difficult. This has forced many to be flexible with suppliers as our new world has become harder to predict. Often, we are exploring other items that are less familiar or aren’t obvious to help fill in gaps.
An important role of distributors
is consulting with customers on their needs and working to find solutions. The responsibility also isn’t over after the sale. Helping to educate staff and assist in marketing products should be ongoing.
