              SITUATION ANALYSIS
  the first
180 DAYS
As elected officials we will work together, in partner- ship with the Clerk’s office and Village staff, to establish Community Engagement as a priority for the village. In our first six months, we will:
• Establish Community Engagement and Participation as an official “Board Goal”
• Conduct listening sessions with current Commissions to understand frustrations, success factors, and opportunities
The City of Golden, CO has established the following:

 COMMITMENT 1:
Sustain an informed public
COMMITMENT 2:
Seek understanding of community perspectives
COMMITMENT 3:
Tap into the collective intelligence of the community
COMMITMENT 4:
Ensure transparency in City decisions, actions, and decision-making processes
Equip City staff to communicate, collaborate, and engage with the community effectively
Enhance collaboration, communication, and cohesiveness within and between City departments
COMMITMENT 5:

• Partner with Village staff to conduct an analysis of the Community Relations Department Capacity and
reasonable capabilities
• Led by the Village Clerk, partner with Citizens Involvement Commission to draft and propose engagement framework for key Village initiatives
• Establish thresholds and/or protocols for determining what qualifies for Community Engagement
• Partner with Village staff to create a Community Engagement-specific Communications Plan and Toolkit, using examples from other municipalities and organizations
• Evaluate and track success rates within the plan, with the intention of updating and revising as- needed
• Establish Oak Park Commitments for Community Engagement: (example as follows)
