Were You One of the “Lucky” Ones?
In March, the OTPTAT Board randomly selected over 1,400 licensed PTs to be audited and to submit proof of CEUs earned between Feb . 1, 2016 – Jan . 31, 2018 .
If your 24 CEUs all had an Ohio approval number, being selected for audit was a breeze and you breathed a big sigh of relief . For others, being selected struck fear into your heart, upped your stress level 1,000% and pushed you to the edge of the cliff! But it doesn’t have to be that way .
Every year, the OPTA reviewers review approximately 2,500 sponsor applications, with approximately 97% approved. You can’t beat those odds!
Thinking about taking a course? Check our online list of Ohio-approved courses at ohiopt.org > Continuing Ed > Ohio-approved CE courses. Want to take a course and don’t see it listed on the approved list? It might be pending review; call the OPTA office at 614-855-4109 or email ceapps@ohiopt .org and I’ll check the database .
Need an easy way to store your CEU certificates in one location? And in the cloud? Your membership record is the perfect place!
1. Start at www.ohiopt.org and Sign In to your member account
2. Under My Profile > Manage Profile
3. Under Content & Features > Professional Development
4. Click on + Add Entry
5. Complete the form and attach a scan of your CEU certificate
You will see a list of all CEU certificates, including those earned by attendance at OPTA conferences .
• Print transcript: gives you a list of all certificates with a total number CEUs earned .
• Print filtered entries: you can enter a date range, click “apply filter” and get a list of CEUs earned during a specific time frame.
• Email transcript: emails you the transcript as shown on the screen .
PTAs – let this be a cautionary tale for you – 2020 will be the audit year for PTAs for CEUs earned between Feb. 1, 2017 and Jan. 31, 2019. Prepare your files now – gather your CEU certificates; check that you have Ohio approval codes totaling 12 CEUs and if not, submit an individual application to have your course(s) reviewed before you receive an audit notice .
Don’t wait until the next round of audit requests to find out your CEUs aren’t valid . Plan ahead and rest easy .
