JONATHAN M. WESTENDORF, MPA, OFC
To the members of the Nomination and Elections Committee,
Please accept this letter expressing my desire to seek the office of 2nd vice president. I have remained an active member (#2677) of the OFCA in good standing since 2000 following my appointment as chief of the City of Franklin (Warren) Division of Fire & EMS.
My tenure at the OFCA includes:
• Education
• Publication
• Conference
• Scholarship
• I am honored to serve as Legislative Chair where our team is constantly work- ing to prepare and equip Ohio’s fire service for an uncertain future in a rapidly evolving political environment.
As the Southwest District Director, I have been actively involved in help- ing strengthen the OFCA and represent the needs of area departments. After recently obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration from BGSU and
a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Southern California, I am eager to combine my 25-years of practical experience with time-tested research to strengthen our organization.
Collaboration, networking and continuous improvement are the cornerstone of strong public governance. I resolve to continue our work of striving toward a fire service that supports its chief officers with an association of likeminded pro- fessionals from volunteer, combination and career organizations across this state. I ask for the membership’s support and participation in actively achieving our common goal of advocacy, improved safety and proactive initiatives in service to others.
Sincerely,
Jonathan M. Westendorf, MPA, OFC
