It’s the right time
to know OPTA  With this year’s Annual Conference lineup, you will enjoy cutting-
edge educational
programming
from distinguished
physical therapy
researchers
engaged in important work, your colleagues who are blazing new trails, and nationally known keynote speakers  You will strengthen professional relationships, connect with other therapists who are making a difference, and interact with businesses that support physical therapy all in one place and in one amazing weekend. I’m not sure how we  t all this great programming into just two days! Annual Conference will be April 13 and 14 at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel 
This year’s annual conference is entitled, “Leveraging Technology in Physical Therapy Practice: Application, Translation, Innovation,” and we’re not just bringing you engaging breakout sessions—we’re kicking
off Friday morning with our expert panel  Participants include Madalynn Wendland, PT, DPT, PCS, ATP, CKTP/CKTF; Jennifaye Brown, PT, PhD, PCS; Anne Kloos, PT, PhD, NDS / Deb Kegelmeyer, PT, DPT, MS, GCS; & Phil Anloague, PT, DHSc, OCS, MTC  Our morning whole-group session will be followed by
breakout sessions presented by the panelists 
You will also have the opportunity to enjoy programming on vertigo, a clinician-driven quality and outcomes program, technology in education, ultrasound imaging, video game technology, video analysis, demonstrating the value of physical therapy with modern marketing, and many more important technology in physical therapy topics 
And if that’s not enough, we have even greater programming lined up for your Friday evening 
The ever-entertaining Oxford Debate returns from 4:30 to 5:30 p m  This is a participation event, so bring your voice and your opinion  You will have the chance to agree or disagree with presenter arguments about the statement, “Technology will advance the physical therapy profession more than our hands and eyes will ”
The Oxford Debate will be followed by the Student Challenge from 5:30 to 6:30 p m  It’s a fun, Jeopardy-style game hosted by the OPTA Student Special Interest Group (SSIG)  PT and PTA students will participate in the competition  Everyone is welcome to join the audience and cheer for the teams 
Enjoy fun, food, live music, and open bar at PACcy Hour event from 6:30 to
8:30 p m  on Friday  It’s a great way to kick off your weekend  And there’s
plenty of time afterward to meet up with friends in downtown Columbus 
We are pleased to announce that Tara Jo Manal, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FAPTA will be joining us for our Saturday morning keynote entitled, “The Clinical Value of Standardization and How It Leads to Quality Improvements: Bringing Big Data to a Small Actionable Space ” Dr  Manal was the prestigious presenter of the 22nd John H P  Maley Lecture at APTA’s NEXT Conference & Exposition in 2017 
The Annual Membership Recognition Meeting & Luncheon is a do-not-miss event this year  We are excited to be joined by Justin Moore, PT, DPT Chief Executive Of cer at APTA
for a special keynote on “Innovations in the APTA: Value for Your Membership’s Future” following the membership meeting  Stay for the conference “wrap up” from 2:15-2:30 p m  for a chance to win a fabulous prize!

Get ready for OPTimize 2018: OPTA’s Fall Forum and Research Showcase on Population Health and Movement  In past years, this
event was called Scienti c Symposium.
We’ve reworked the name, but the science
is the same  In 2018, we will bring back
the very popular Research Short format  OPTimize will also include Poster and Platform Presentations of research  You can view the Call for Presentations and the Call for Research Abstracts on the OPTA website  Presentation proposals are due by April 29, 2018, and abstracts are due by May 30, 2018  OPTimize will be held September 28, 2017, at Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center at 100 Green Meadows Drive South in Lewis Center, OH
