LOWER BUCKEYE JAIL
The Lower Buckeye Jail project built for Maricopa County Criminal Justice included the new construction of of a a a a a a a a a a a a a 670 237-square-foot criminal detention facility facility located in in in in in in in Phoenix AZ The facility facility houses inmate living areas consisting of of four direct supervision style style housing housing units units and and 12 tower style style observation units units for two housing housing pods The The facility accommodates approximately 2 2 2 2 382 inmates and and and supports a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a 60- bed bed medical infirmary and and and and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a 210-bed mental health unit The The project also features intake booking and and and and release areas juvenile remand area area administrative offices classrooms and and and and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a video visitation room room room room Other features include negative air flow rooms rooms rooms for the the control of of infectious diseases ADA compliant rooms rooms rooms and and elevators The detention facility was constructed of of a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a drilled concrete concrete concrete caissons foundation concrete concrete concrete modular modular unit unit and and pre-cast cells structural frame a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a concrete concrete concrete modular modular unit unit exterior and and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a built-up roof system Upon completion the the the Lower Buckeye Jail Jail project successfully replaced the the the the antiquated Durango Jail Jail as the the the the largest criminal detention facility in the the state of Arizona
