PEORIA ZOO WELCOME CENTER
The Peoria Zoo Welcome Center project, built for the Peoria Park District, included the new construction of a two-story 8,000-square- foot building in Peoria, IL. The facility supports the entrance into the zoo and a gift shop. The new building was constructed utilizing a wood structural frame and stone exterior. Other finishes include stone veneer, stone columns, and steel trusses. The project also includes four lanes of entrance to control the crowd flow into the zoo, gift shop, restaurant, and restrooms, as well as a new parking lot with 100 spaces, a structural mezzanine, and a basement for storage. The Peoria Zoo Welcome Center now provides an aesthetic and welcoming structure to zoo visitors and employees.
