HENDERSON FIRE STATION NO. 85
The Henderson Fire Station No. 85 project, built for the City of Henderson, included the new construction of an 11,946-square-foot fire station in place of a dog park in Henderson, NV. The project also included the relocation and new construction of the two-acre dog park. The fire station was constructed on a cast-in-place concrete foundation with masonry walls, and steel joists with metal decking. The station includes exposed masonry and metal panels with membrane roofing, and features a refueling station, spacious dorms, and storage for off-highway vehicles which support rescue efforts for the harder to reach, less populated areas of Henderson. The project achieved LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its energy efficient design and inclusion of photovoltaic panels, as well as a Green Globes Building Certification from the Green Building Initiative. The Henderson Fire Station No. 85 project provides an enhanced facility with improved accommodations for the firefighters who serve the community of Henderson.
