MICA MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL
The Mica Mountain High School project, built for the Vail Unified School District, included the new construction of a 167,843-square-foot high school campus located in Tucson, AZ. The facility supports 11 buildings and approximately 2,100 students. The campus includes a gymnasium, wrestling and training buildings, an arts and auditorium building, a kitchen, a cafeteria, a student union, an administration building, classrooms, and staff buildings. The high school campus was constructed of a foundation of slab-on-grade with continuous spread footings and a structural frame of various material types including steeling joisted with masonry, wood joisted with structural steels studs, and PEMB. An exterior skin of EIFS, masonry, metal wall panels, as well as a TPO and standing seam PEMB roof completed the construction. The campus also features baseball and softball fields, an artificial turf football field, a track, exterior basketball courts, an exterior amphitheater, and on-site staff and student parking lots. Mica Mountain High School now provide a state-of-the-art facilities for students in the Vail Unified School District.
