It is revered as a sacred plant in India. Historically, it is widely used in Ayurveda and traditional folk systems of medicine in India for thousands of years. The two common varieties of Tulsi are Rama Tulsi and Krishna Tulsi. Both varieties are similar in smell and health benefits.
