Textile Machinery Upgradation: Demonstration
of manufacturing capabilities of textile machinery industry. Some machineries were developed, including high-speed comber with 50% higher productivity, auto- leveler for card enabling high-quality silver product, twin delivery auto leveler draw frame for improved yarn quality, weft straightener indicator for chemical/ liquor pick up by fabrics, Dye exhauster rate controller, Digital pilling tester and Rapier shuttle-less loom.
Centres of Relevance and Excellence:
• Relevance and Excellence in Achieving new heights in educational institutions through setting up of TIFAC-COREs.
• Set up 35 TIFAC COREs in wireless technologies, herbal drugs, biomedical engineering, diabetic retinopathy, industrial safety, and aircraft maintenance.
• Unique collaboration among industry, government R&D agencies and academia.

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) to Electricity:
TIFAC supported commissioning of the country’s first commercial scale electricity generation plant (of 6.6 MW capacity), based on processed MSW in Hyderabad.
