     of VP’s niche activities. The club provides skill up- gradation trainings, awareness camps, and hands-on science workshops throughout the country. Various state education departments, Tribal departments and chains of schools, are now partners in this initiative. A monthly newsletter named ‘VIPNET Curiosity’ keeps the club members updated.
SCoPE in Research: The project Augmenting Writing Skills for Articulating Research (AWSAR) encourages PhD and post-doctoral scholars in science and technology streams to write popular science articles during their scholarship/fellowship programme, which are later published as a book.
SCoPE for Students: Vigyan Prasar is a partner
in India’s largest Talent Search Examination VVM (Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan) for New India using only digital devices initiated by Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA). VVM is focused on school-going children from class VI to XI across the country. National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) of the Ministry of Human Resources and Development is also part of this initiative. The major objective of the programme is to educate the students about India’s legacy of science & technology.
Engage with Science: Engage with Science (www. engagewithscience.in) is an interactive platform aimed at school teachers and students to make science teaching and learning a lot of fun by deploying gamification tools and an incentive- driven competitive process. EWS is a collaboration between Vigyan Prasar and IBM.
SCoPE to Popularize Astronomy and Maths:
Vigyan Prasar is engaged in the popularization of astronomy at the national level through various means. Vigyan Prasar has many astronomical instruments, which it lends to schools and
VIPNET clubs, conducts awareness programmes and workshops, provides resource material on astronomy and popularizes astronomy through print and electronic media. Vigyan Prasar has been organizing various programmes through EDUSAT for maths popularization, workshops, Ramanujan Yatra 2020 and Pi-Day every year.
SCoPE for Schedule Tribes: VP, since 2013, has been focused on communicating science in the tribal areas of the country. Trainings, workshops, activity camps and awareness programmes are being organized using film and radio as a medium of communication along with other outreach activities.
SCoPE through Exhibitions and Fairs: Vigyan Prasar regularly participates in various events and exhibitions. Thematic exhibitions are also conducted using knowledge products/tools such as posters, digital displays, flyers, multi-user smart surface tables, virtual holographic displays, and films.
SCoPE in Toys and Kits: Developing series of activity kits as additional material for various training and outreach activities is VP’s ongoing programme. During the past decade, more than ten thematic activity kits have been developed, and students, teachers and the common man have benefitted from these interventions. •

The programme has been conceived to develop gender-responsive science & technology communication.
